"Good morning God,
I come to you again today in the name of Jesus.
I choose to worship you in spirit and in truth … so help me God.
I choose to glorify you God in everything I am and do today … so help me God.
I choose to love you with all my heart, soul, mind and strength … so help me God.
I choose to love your Word … so help me God.
I choose to be available for you today to use as you will … so help me God.
I choose to be as Jesus today to every life I touch … so help me God.
I choose to always have a thankful heart and an attitude of gratitude … so help me God.
I choose to walk on the path of truth always in all ways … so help me God.
I choose to keep growing in 'faith and love and every grace and seek more earnestly your face' … so help me God.
I choose to become the man of God you want me to be … so help me God.
I choose to become more and more in every way like you Jesus … so help me God.
I choose to be a living witness for you Jesus … so help me God.
I choose to give you my heart to love and serve you … so help me God.
I choose to fulfill my God-given life purpose … so help me God.
I choose to be a man of honesty and character … so help me God.
I choose to trust in you God in every circumstance … so help me God.
I choose to be a part of your plans and what you are doing in the world today … so help me God.
'Here’s my heart, LORD, take and seal it, seal it for your courts above' … so help me God.
Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully in Jesus' name, amen."

Whoops, What a Long Prayer!
I guess I got a little carried away with that, but I do have a tendency to post lengthy good morning prayers. It's how I got kicked off of my former blog site, teensblogging4christ.blogspot.com/shortgoodmorningprayersonly. I found this gem at ACTS International, which has helpful features such as "How to Be Sure You're a Real Christian" and a fun online store that sells must-have books like Cooking With Hot Flashes. Bookmark it for sure.

Peter Seeger: Saint

I'm aware folk might not be the most hip music genre, but it was my first love, so it holds a special place in my heart. Pete Seeger is to me what saints are to religious people - I respect him immensely and love his work dearly, but I don't listen to him as much as I should. Kind of like how Catholics don't pray to Saint Anthony until they've lost something; I don't listen to Pete until I've lost the will to live. "Cindy" is one of the most famous American folk songs, and this video is enjoyable to folk music lover and haters alike because Buffy Sainte-Marie is playing some badass mouth bow thing. Cool!

Bessie Smith: Cool

Speaking of cool, is there anyone more cool than Bessie Smith? Yes, but not very many! I'm posting this video not only because of her coolness, but also because it's a pretty accurate depiction of what my life has been like for the past two weeks in St. Louis. Suffice it to say, I can't wait until next week, when I leave Missouri for Washington DC. Click here to listen to one of my favorite DC songs and watch some strange kid draw shit on his face.

Zach Galifianakis & Brain Posehn: Funny

Actually, now that I think about it, I probably didn't get kicked off of that teens4christ site because I posted good morning prayers that were too long. It probably had more to do with me posting videos like this.

In Conclusion
I'll leave you with this, from ACTS International:

"If you were found guilty of a serious crime and were condemned to death, and if offered, would you accept a free unconditional pardon?
Because of Christ's dying for us, that's what God offers us, and with it the gift of eternal life. All we need to do is to accept his pardon."

  1. Someone forgot to do Read More, and someone also poisoned my secular brain with the longest prayer I've ever seen in my life - and I'm from Canada!

  6. I like Seeger, but I always thought his extra-long banjo neck was compensating for something.

Also, have you heard of The Mammals? Pete's grandson plays banjo for them.
