KTz Preview Reviewz

By Katy

We're going to try a little something different this time around, kids. Jake made an uber helpful suggestion on the last Preview Reviewz that I should include movie trailers in these. While it takes away my American born right to lie to you about what these movies are about, it does add some pizazz to the article and some much needed visual stimulation. Let's get started.

  • Date Night (Rated PG-13 for Jimmi Simpson's creepiness).

  • My Take: I'd like to see this movie despite some shaky feelings about the cast. I never know how I feel about Tina Fey. She can certainly be amusing when she wants to be or when the writing is good. There aren't too many bad things I can say about Steve Carell. But Jimmi Simpson, based solely on his roles in Sunny is unbelievably creepy and not someone I can really see pulling off the "bad guy" vibe unless he's shooting up a bar with his equally crazy/creepy brother. I'm not going to see this in the theatre, but I'll watch it when it comes out on DVD. I do urge YOU to go see it and tell me how it turns out. I went to Clash of the Titans on Easter and was thoroughly disappointed by so many things. I don't think my heart can stand another break like the last one.

  • The Runaways (Rated R)

  • My Take As you all know from reading everyone of my contributions to the site, I already pre-reviewed The Runaways in an article a few weeks back, but since Date Night is the only big flick coming out today, I wanted to bring it back as it hits theaters all over this glorious country. I still don't care about this movie. If anything, the trailer made it even less exciting because rather than assume Kristen Stewart is completely wrong for the part of Joan Jett based on her previous lack of acting like anyone with passion, I can see it running visually in front of me. Gross.
