Thursday Morning Thursday

By Jake

I have to admit something: I'm turning into a huge comic nerd. Over the last week or two I have spent a lot of time reading comics. I'm reading Final Crisis, Black Panther (Christopher Priest run) and various Batman. When I'm done with Final Crisis I'll move onto Batman: RIP/Battle for the Cowl, Green Lantern: In Blackest Night and All-Star Superman. Yes, this is what I do for the time being. I basically have nothing better to do, except post on One Year in Texas!

Remember this song? It's great! Ini Kamoze has the craziest name you'll ever hear. Well, it's not fair to say that you'll hear it, because who is talking about Ini Kamoze in 2009? Only me. This song is really actually pretty great. At the start when it breaks out into all the nana's it makes me think of The Land of 1,000 Dances. Not the actual place, but the song of the same name. Would it be appropriate to do the mashed potato to this song? I have no idea, that's what debates are made for. If anybody would like to debate me on the proper dance to this song, you know how to reach me. I say it's the Bony Maronie.

Because I don't know what else to post, here's Norm Macdonald talking about Bob Uecker. Norm is playing in Hammond in October and if Kal and I can get ahold of some extra money we're going to go. With Kal getting subpoenaed it's seeming less likely, though.

  1. i like a comic book nerd! it's only a matter of time before you start enjoying webcomics, and then we can truly relate!

i can't watch those videos because i'm at work and i only listen to musicians whose names i can pronounce. and i don't respect men named norm or bob.

  2. You've heard that Ini Kamoze song before. It was a huge hit in the 90s and the theme song for the wrestling tag team Public Enemy during their ECW run.
