Untertainment Weakly (4-20-12)

By Jake

Vince Vaughn is making a big-screen adaptation of “The Rockford Files.”  I guess since “21 Jump Street” was such a huge hit, why not make every Stephen J. Cannell show into a fucking film.

Ralph Macchio has joined the making of Psycho biopic.  This gets better and better.

Mitt Romney has been asked to host “Saturday Night Live.”

Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake will team up in a movie about online gambling written by the scribes of “Oceans 13” and “Rounders.”

There’s a “Carrie” adaptation in the works.  When it’s based on a book it is no longer a remake and much more acceptable.

Ryan Seacrest will be hosting FOX’s “25th Anniversary Special.”

Ben Kingsley has been cast as the villain in “Iron Man 3.”

Tina Fey will star in Nancy Myers’ new film “The Intern.”

Melissa Joan Hart is pregnant with her third child.

Dick Clark is fucking dead!!!

“Cash Cab” has been canceled.  Cabs are now free.

Disney is planning a “Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride” film adaptation of the ride that was adapted from a book.

Matthew Perry Watch
Matthew Perry’s second episode of “The Good Wife” airs this Sunday.  Will you be watching?  I know I will!  I am a Matthew Perry completist.

Movies Out This Weekend
The Lucky One - Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling star in this romantic film about a soldier returning from Iraq to meet a lady from a photo that he thinks kept him alive overseas.  I saw a trailer for this and it looks very bad, but not so bad that it would be fun to watch.  But, hey, at least it isn’t a remake!

Think Like a Man - This is a Tyler Perry-esque film based on a Steve Harvey book.  I don’t really know if it is actually like a Tyler Perry movie because I have never seen one and never would.  Steve Harvey is really awful and my friend Omar was really mad that this movie exists because he hates Steve Harvey a lot.  I dislike Harvey, but I did watch his WB sitcom when I was younger.  Why are two romantic movies coming out on 4/20?

Movies I Watched This Week
Bounty Hunters 4/10
Cedar Rapids 7/10

Song of the Week

  1. Yeah why aren't there movies coming out about marijuana legalization?

Also, Whitney heard that on an episode of The Good Wife, Matthew Perry has half of his face paralyzed, like he has bells palsy. Please investigate for next week!

  2. So much news I'm not happy to learn about. I'm a Kingsley fan, but I think he's a little too old to be playing the bad guy. I mean, he was borderline too old as the role in Sneakers. :-/

  4. At Whitney's workplace, "The Good Wife" is the scuttlebutt around the watercooler.
