Untertainment Weakly (3-23-12)

By Jake

ABC Family has announced that “Home Alone 5: After Dark” is in the works.

Rosie O’Donnell’s show on Oprah’s network has been canceled.

Marc Maron’s “WTF” is coming to IFC as a TV show with a 10 episode order.

Brett Ratner is in talks to direct the sequel to “Midnight Run.”  Brett Ratner is a homophobe.

Uwe Boll is making a film titled “Bailout” about a man who loses everything in the 2008 financial crisis and goes on a investment banker killing spree.

R. Kelly is bringing us a new installment of “Trapped in the Closet.”  This is the best news of the week.  But it is a close toss up between this and “Home Alone 5: After Dark.”

Jeff Foxworthy is going to host a religious game show called “The American Bible Challenge.”

Aziz Ansari self-released his new stand-up special “Dangerously Delicious” on his website for $5.  I watched it and it is pretty funny.

Eddie Izzard is Grandpa Munster in NBC’s ill-advised “Munsters” remake/reboot.

Jennifer Lawrence gave Josh Huterson a concussion on the set of “The Hunger Games” during the making of the film.  I wish J-Law would give me a concussion!

Alyssa Milano has been cast in the ABC drama series "Mistress."  She plays a lawyer.  Talk about type casting!

Hilary Duff had a baby--and you're the father!

Matthew Perry Watch

This Sunday marks Matthew Perry's first guest starring role on CBS's "The Good Wife."  I know I don't have to tell you to tune in since 1)you already watch "The Good Wife and 2)Matthew Perry's TV performances are not to be missed.

Movies Out This Weekend
Hunger Games - This is potentially the biggest movie of the year.  I guess that’s what you get when you pit 24 teens against each other in a battle to the death.  I read the books, I am going to see the movie.  OYIT’s new favorite actress Jennifer “J-Law” Lawrence stars as Katniss Everdeen, a young woman who must fight other teens to the death.  Woody Harrelson is also in this, reprising his role as “Woody” from “Cheers.”  I thought it was weird that his character appeared in the novel, but I guess it makes sense now that it is a movie.

  1. An 8 is pretty low on your exceedingly generous scale, is Young Adult not that good? I am SO proud to be the father of Hillary Duff's child, and to be Matthew Perry's biggest fan while on this website! The alternative title to Foxworthy's religious game show is 'You Are Not Smarter Than A Fifth Grader'!!

    1. I have just been watching really good movies this week. I didn't give Garbage Pail Kids an 8. It was awful, but most of the other movies were really good.

  2. thank you for STICKING IT TO that awful garbage pail kids movie.

I shouldn't be saying anything about J-Law publicly, but I hope her movie does well this weekend.

  3. The only reason Garbage Pail Kids got a 2 instead of a 1 was because for the first 30 minutes it was so befuddling that it was entertaining, but then it became excrutiating.
